WideMath (also referred to as Appynox) operates the website at widemath.com, including the free online scientific calculator at /scientific-calculator/, related guides, and the WideMath Scientific Calculator browser extension.

In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean WideMath / Appynox. “You” means anyone using our website or extension.

2. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• The WideMath website and calculator pages
• Guides, documentation, and related content on widemath.com
• The WideMath Scientific Calculator Chrome / Chromium extension

It does not cover third-party websites you visit while the side panel is open, or services linked from our pages that we do not control.

• Math evaluation happens locally in your browser (or extension).
• We do not sell your personal information.
• The extension requests only the sidePanel permission and does not read page content.

4. Information we collect

4.1 Information you provide

We do not require you to create an account. If you email us (for example privacy or security questions), we receive the content of that message and your email address so we can reply.

4.2 Calculator expressions & results

Expressions you enter into the calculator are processed locally on your device. We do not operate a server that stores your calculation history as part of the core calculator product. History shown in the calculator UI is kept in your browser session (and may use local browser storage on your device—see Local storage).

4.3 Automatically collected website data

When you visit widemath.com, standard technical information may be processed by our hosting provider and analytics tools, such as:

• Approximate location derived from IP address
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate timestamps
• Basic performance / error signals needed to keep the site running

We use this information in aggregate to understand traffic and improve the product—not to build a personal profile for advertising sales.

4.4 Information we do not intentionally collect

• Passwords or payment card details (we do not sell paid calculator access on this site)
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts, photos, or microphone/camera data
• Contents of other browser tabs (via the extension)

6. Chrome / Edge extension

The WideMath Scientific Calculator extension is designed as a single-purpose utility: a scientific calculator in the browser side panel (or a floating window).

• Permission: sidePanel — used only so the calculator can open and stay available beside other tabs.
• No host permissions: the extension does not declare access to read or change website content.
• Offline math: calculation logic and the math engine ship with the extension and run locally.
• Optional link: the extension may include a link to the full website; following that link is optional and uses normal web browsing.

Uninstalling the extension removes it from your browser. Local data stored only by the extension (if any) is removed according to your browser’s extension storage rules.

7. Local storage on your device

The website or extension may store small amounts of data on your device to improve usability, for example:

• UI preferences (such as display options)
• Recent calculation history for the current session or local persistence
• PWA / install-related browser state if you add the site to your home screen

You can clear site data or extension data through your browser settings.

8. Analytics & cookies

Our website may use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-HQNRRVNE01) to collect aggregated statistics about visits. Google may set cookies or use similar technologies as described in Google’s documentation and privacy policy.

You can limit analytics cookies through your browser settings, browser privacy features, or Google’s available opt-out mechanisms. Blocking analytics may not affect core calculator functionality.

Hosting and CDN providers (for example Cloudflare, if used to serve the site) may process technical logs needed to deliver pages securely.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, security), only as needed to provide those services. We may disclose information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and our services.

Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to handle your request and for legitimate business or legal records. Analytics data is retained according to the analytics provider’s settings and our configuration. Local calculator history remains on your device until you clear it.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a free browser-based utility (HTTPS, limiting permissions, local computation). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use the calculator for learning and everyday math—not as a vault for sensitive secrets.

Because we minimize collection and do not run user accounts, many requests can be handled by clearing local browser data and adjusting cookie preferences.
