A GPA calculator is only useful if it gets the same number NEB prints on your grade sheet. That sounds easy, but NEB's rules have more moving parts than most calculators handle: theory and practical are graded separately, the credit hours differ by subject, Computer Science is split 50/50, and the pass line is 35% in theory but 40% in practical. We tested the calculators that come up when students search for one, including the old one we made ourselves.

The short answer
The most accurate NEB GPA calculator we tested is the free WideMath NEB GPA calculator. It passed all six checks below, and every other calculator we tested missed at least one: it grades theory and practical separately, weights them by the curriculum's credit hours, applies the 35% theory and 40% practical NG rules, and divides by the credit hours you actually take. It covers Science, Management and Humanities, takes marks or letter grades, works in English and Nepali, and prints a grade sheet. It is the successor of neb.paudelanuj.com.np, which many of you used since 2023.

Open the NEB GPA calculator →Six checks every NEB GPA calculator should pass
Each check is one small sheet with a known right answer, worked out by hand from the directive. Type it into any calculator; if it gives a different answer, that calculator will get your real GPA wrong too. Every Try it link opens our calculator with the marks already in.
1. Theory and practical are graded separately
Physics theory 62 out of 75 is 82.7%, an A (3.6). Physics practical 23 out of 25 is 92%, an A+ (4.0). Weighted by credit hours, (3.6 × 3.75 + 4.0 × 1.25) ÷ 5 = 3.70, an A+. A calculator that adds the marks first sees 85 out of 100, an A, and gives 3.60. Try it
2. It divides by the credit hours you take
Enter full marks in seven subjects (Science with both Computer Science and Biology, 32 credit hours). The GPA must be 4.00. A calculator that always divides by 27 shows 4.74, which is impossible. Try it
3. Practical needs 40%, not 35%
Physics 60 out of 75 in theory and 9 out of 25 in practical. 9 is 36%: it prints as a D, but the directive asks for at least a C in internal, so the subject is NG and there is no GPA. A calculator that uses 35% for both parts passes it. Try it
4. Computer Science is split 50/50
Computer Science theory 36 out of 50 is 72%, a B+ (3.2), and practical 46 out of 50 is 92%, an A+ (4.0). With the right 2.5 and 2.5 credit hours that is (3.2 × 2.5 + 4.0 × 2.5) ÷ 5 = 3.60. A calculator that treats it like a 75/25 subject gives 3.40. Try it
5. Nepali is 3 credit hours, with a practical part
The curriculum gives Nepali 3 credit hours (2.25 theory, 0.75 internal) and English 4 (3 and 1). Enter Nepali 60 out of 75 and 25 out of 25, and Physics 45 out of 75 and 15 out of 25. The right answer is 25.1 ÷ 8 = 3.14. A calculator that gives Nepali 4 credit hours shows 3.20, and one that counts only Nepali theory shows 3.10. Try it
6. It uses the current scale
Physics theory 25 out of 75 is 33.3%, below 35%, so it is NG. A calculator still on the pre-2078 scale shows a D+ or an E with a grade point of 0.8 or more. Those grades no longer exist for Class 11 and 12. Try it
1. WideMath NEB GPA calculator
widemath.com/neb-gpa-calculator passed all six checks. It is free, has no sign-up, and keeps your marks on your own device.
- Every common subject is ready. Science starts with Computer Science and switches to Biology in one tap; Management starts with Business Studies and switches to any other optional subject; Humanities starts with Sociology, Psychology and Economics. Any extra subject can be added, and one that is not listed can be added by name.
- Marks or grades. Type theory and practical marks, or pick letter grades straight from your grade sheet.
- The GPA updates as you type, and each subject shows its final grade. An NG says which mark is short and how many marks you need.
- A printable grade sheet in NEB's layout, with a theory and an internal row per subject, and a Copy link button to share the filled-in sheet.
- English and Nepali, light and dark mode, and it works on a phone.
The rules it follows, with the full credit hour table for every subject, are on the calculator page.
The other calculators we tested
We opened each calculator on 12 October 2026, read the code that does the calculation where it runs in the browser, and tested the rest by entering marks. They are in the order of how close they came to NEB's rules. All of them are free.
2. Goreto NEB GPA calculator
goreto.edu.np. Good: Covers all five streams (Science, Management, Humanities, Law, Education), takes grades or marks, updates as you type, and shows no GPA when a subject is NG. It also has grade, GPA and percentage converters, and we found no ads.
Watch out: It gives Nepali 4 credit hours (3 theory and 1 practical) instead of 3, and it uses 35% as the pass line for practical as well as theory, so a 36% practical passes. The default Science sheet leaves out Biology, though you can add it.
3. CollegeInfoNepal NEB GPA calculator
neb.collegeinfonepal.com. Good: Science and Management, with theory and practical marks entered separately and credit hours that match the curriculum. It shows the formula it uses.
Watch out: It has no separate practical minimum (its pass rule is 35% of theory and 35 marks in total), an NG subject still counts with 0 points and a GPA is still shown, and a blank practical box counts as 0. There is no save, share or print.
4. nebgpacalculator.com
nebgpacalculator.com. Good: The most features of the rest: five streams, a letter grade for each theory and practical part, progress saved in the browser, a share link, a PNG and printable mark sheet, and no GPA when a subject is NG.
Watch out: It takes letter grades only, not marks. It credits English and Nepali as theory only, with no practical part, and Computer Science as 4 credit hours (3 and 1) instead of 5 split 2.5 and 2.5. It also adds division labels such as Distinction and First Division, which NEB's letter grading does not use.
5. Sajilox NEB GPA calculator
sajilox.com. Good: You build the subject rows yourself, with grades or marks, and it applies the 40% practical rule. It prints to PDF.
Watch out: The calculation runs on its server, rows you add get 4 credit hours whatever you choose, and an NG still returns a number. The page carries several ad units, one right above the calculator.
6. Merokalam Nepal GPA calculator
merokalam.com. Good: Marks input, no ads on the page, and no GPA when a subject is NG.
Watch out: It adds theory and practical marks together before grading, so the two parts are not graded separately. It credits English as 5 credit hours instead of 4, treats every subject as 75/25 so Computer Science cannot be 50/50, and uses 35% as the practical pass line.
7. Beej Technologies NEB GPA calculator
beejtechnologies.com.np. Good: Science, Management and Humanities, a share link, print to PDF, and a table that shows the working.
Watch out: It takes one letter per subject, so theory and practical are never graded separately. It gives Nepali 4 credit hours, shows the GPA with an NG counted as 0, and its "cleared" figure is the GPA with the NG subject left out.
8. WAP Nepal NEB Science GPA calculator
wapnepal.com.np. Good: Science only, in a Computer or Biology version, with a table of each part's credit hours.
Watch out: It marks a subject NG but still prints a final GPA and letter grade, and it treats Biology as 50/50, although the curriculum marks it 75 theory and 25 internal.

"Not tested" means we did not confirm that point for that calculator. The credit hours and pass lines we checked against are the Curriculum Development Centre's Secondary Education Curriculum 2076 and the Letter Grading Directive 2083.
If you used neb.paudelanuj.com.np
neb.paudelanuj.com.np was the first NEB GPA calculator from Anuj Paudel, one of the three people behind WideMath, online since March 2023. When we ran it through the same six checks, it missed three of them: it divided by 27 credit hours whatever you entered, so a seventh subject pushed the GPA above 4.0; it used 35% as the pass line for practical as well as theory; and its help table still showed the grading scale from before 2078. It also printed a GPA next to an NG.
Rather than patch it, we rebuilt it as the WideMath NEB GPA calculator, with the subjects, the credit hours and the NG rules checked against NEB's and the Curriculum Development Centre's own documents. The old address is moving to the new calculator, so your bookmark will keep working.
Questions students ask
What is the best NEB GPA calculator?
In our tests on 12 October 2026, the WideMath NEB GPA calculator was the only one that passed all six checks taken from NEB's grading rules: separate theory and practical grades, the curriculum's credit hours, the 40% practical pass line, Computer Science split 50/50, dividing by the credit hours you take, and the current grading scale. It is free and works for Science, Management and Humanities.
How can I check whether an NEB GPA calculator is accurate?
Give it a sheet with a known answer. Physics 62/75 in theory and 23/25 in practical should give 3.70, an A+. Full marks in seven subjects must give 4.00, never more. A practical of 9/25 must make the subject NG. If a calculator gives other answers, it will get your real GPA wrong too.
Why do NEB GPA calculators give different answers?
They make different choices on the rules: some add theory and practical marks before grading, some use the wrong credit hours for Nepali, English or Computer Science, some use 35% instead of 40% for practical, and some still show a GPA when a subject is NG. Each choice moves the result.
Is the WideMath NEB GPA calculator free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account, and keeps your marks in your own browser. It works on phones and computers, in English or Nepali.
What happened to neb.paudelanuj.com.np?
It was the first NEB GPA calculator from the same maker, online since March 2023. The WideMath NEB GPA calculator is its successor, rebuilt with checked subjects, credit hours and NG rules, and the old address is moving to it.
Can a GPA calculator tell me if I am NG?
A good one can. NG means less than 35% in theory or less than 40% in practical in any subject. The WideMath calculator shows NG as soon as a mark falls short, says which part and how many marks are needed, and shows no GPA until it is cleared, the way NEB's grade sheet works.
