How to embed a calculator
A widget is the same calculator you use on WideMath, loaded inside a frame on your own page. Your readers type into it as if they were on our site, and nothing is installed on yours.
- Choose a calculator in the box above. The preview shows exactly what your readers will see.
- Adjust the height and the maximum width if your page needs it. The default size fits the whole tool.
- Press Copy embed code.
- Paste the code where your site accepts HTML: an HTML block, an embed block or the HTML view of the editor. Publish the page.
The code has two parts. The first line is an iframe, the frame that loads the calculator from widemath.com/embed/. The second line is a short credit with a link to the full tool, for readers who want the worked examples and explanations that sit under each calculator on our site.
Every tool page on WideMath also has an "Embed" box near the end of the article with the code for that tool, so you can grab it while you are using the calculator.
Which calculators you can embed
All 24 calculators below have a widget. The height and width are the defaults the box above starts with: tall enough to show the whole tool without a scroll bar inside the frame on a laptop.

The keypad calculators (scientific, TI-36X Pro style, BA II Plus style, GATE-style and the construction keypad) are narrow on purpose, so they sit well beside a worksheet or a lesson. The graphers and solvers are happier with the full width of your content column.
Adding the widget on popular platforms
Any site that lets you add your own HTML can show the widget. These are the usual places to paste it:
| Platform | Where to paste the code |
|---|---|
| WordPress (self-hosted) | Add a Custom HTML block in the block editor and paste the code. On WordPress.com, frames from other sites only stay on plans that allow custom code; on smaller plans the editor removes them. |
| Google Sites | Choose Insert, then Embed, open the Embed code tab and paste. Drag the box taller if the preview looks cut off. |
| Canvas | In the Rich Content Editor, open the HTML editor view of a page and paste the code where the tool should appear. |
| Moodle | Paste the code in the HTML view of a Page or Label. Moodle only keeps frames when your site administrator allows embedded content, so ask them if it disappears after saving. |
| Blogger | Switch the post editor to HTML view and paste the code. |
| Wix | Add an Embed HTML element (also called Embed a Site or Embed Code), choose code mode and paste. |
| Squarespace | Add a Code block and paste the code. |
| Notion | Type /embed and paste only the address inside src="...", for example https://widemath.com/embed/graphing-calculator/. Notion does not take raw HTML, so add the credit line as a normal link below the embed. |
If your platform strips the frame, the tool page link still works: post the address of the full calculator, such as https://widemath.com/graphing-calculator/, and your readers open it in a new tab.
Making the frame fit your page
The code sets the width to 100% with a maximum width, so the widget shrinks on a phone and stops growing on a wide screen. Only the height is fixed, because a frame cannot measure the page inside it from another website.
- Something is cut off at the bottom. Raise the height by 50 to 100 px. Tools with tabs, such as the subnet or molarity calculator, are tallest on their longest tab.
- There is empty space under the tool. Lower the height. Leave a little room, because results and worked steps make some tools grow after the first calculation.
- The keypad looks squeezed. Keep the scientific calculator at least 360 px wide. The keypad calculators are built for phones, so anything wider than that works.
- You want it centred. Add
display:block;margin:0 autoto the style of the iframe.
Opening a ready-made problem
Most WideMath tools keep the current problem in the page address, so a widget can open with your example already filled in. Set up the problem on the full tool page, copy the address from your browser, and swap widemath.com/ for widemath.com/embed/ in the iframe. For example, the graphing calculator's Share button copies a link that ends in #e=...; keep that part and the embedded graph opens with your curves on it.
This is handy for teachers: one page can show a worked graph, a matrix to row-reduce or a subnet to split, ready for students to change and explore.
Rules for using the widgets
- Free for any site. Schools, personal blogs, course sites and business websites can all use the widgets at no cost.
- Keep the credit line. Leave the "by WideMath" line and its link under the frame. It costs you nothing and it is how people find the full tool and how we keep building free calculators.
- Do not resell it. Do not put the widget behind a paywall or present it as your own product.
- It stays up to date. When we fix or improve a calculator, every embedded copy gets the update automatically, because the frame always loads the current version.
- Privacy. The calculations run in your reader's browser. We count how often widgets load with Google Analytics, as described in our privacy policy. There are no ads inside the frame.

Frequently asked questions
Is the calculator widget free?
Yes. Every WideMath widget is free for schools, personal sites and business sites. There is no account, no API key and no usage limit. We only ask that you keep the short credit line with its link under the frame.
Will ads appear inside the widget?
No. The embedded version shows only the calculator, with no ads, menus or articles. Your readers see the tool and a small bar with its name and a link to the full page.
Does the widget work on phones?
Yes. The frame is 100% wide with a maximum width, so it shrinks to fit a phone screen, and the calculators themselves are built to work at phone widths. You may want a slightly taller frame for phones because some tools stack their panels.
How do I embed a graphing calculator in Google Sites?
Copy the code for the graphing calculator above, then in Google Sites choose Insert, Embed, open the Embed code tab and paste it. Resize the box on the page so the whole graph is visible, then publish.
Can I remove the "by WideMath" line?
Please keep it. The widgets are free because the credit link brings people to the full tools, which is how WideMath grows. The line is small, uses your page's own colours for the link text and sits under the frame.
Will my widget change when you update a calculator?
Yes, for the better. The frame always loads the current version from widemath.com, so fixes and new features reach every embedded copy without you changing anything. The embed address stays the same.
